“Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, that I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?” Proverbs 22:20-21
All notes and comments in all books, commentaries, etc., along with all comments and expositions by all preachers, teachers, ‘scholars’, and anyone else are to be taken as in subjection to the authority of THE BOOK which we read, study, teach, and preach - THE HOLY BIBLE - THE WORD OF GOD. According to John 12:48, “The word” will judge those who reject God's words. Psalm 119:160 says, “Thy word is true from the beginning.” The Authorized King James Bible is the word of God from “In the beginning” (Genesis 1:1) to the “Amen” of Revelation 22:21. Jesus said, in John 17:8, "I have given unto them the words which thou gavest." Our Lord also said, Thy word is truth" in John 17:17. If you believe what these verses say, along with Proverbs 22:20-21 (see above), you should see that we have been given the words that God wants us to have, and they are certainly the words of truth that we can be certain of. That is not a matter of opinion. It is a matter of fact. What I just said is stated exactly in the verses above. We have the words that God wants us to have (in a book without error, so that you can be certain of the whole contents), and by believing, you can KNOW THE CERTAINTY OF THE WORDS OF TRUTH. Now you have two choices - either believe what God says or call him a liar. (Ref. Romans 3:4)
INTERPRETATION
The method of interpretation to be used in Bible study is to believe the word of God (I Thessalonians 2:13), search the scriptures (John 5:39; Acts 17:11), comparing scripture with scripture (I Corinthians 2:11-13). Any other interpretation is " private interpretation " (II Peter 1:20), and subject to correction by the word of God. David asked the LORD to give him understanding according to God's word (Psalm 119:169). Notice that in the Bible nobody ever talked about getting scriptural understanding by studying the original manuscripts. Spiritual understanding is available to every saved person. "We have the mind of Christ" (I Corinthians 2:16). It is not necessary to know Hebrew and Greek to understand the Bible. And it is not necessary to get a college education to understand the Bible. Understanding comes by believing that what the Bible says is the truth. The more that you believe what God says the more revelation and understanding God will give you. And the more idols in a man's heart, the more that man will be deceived (Ezekiel 14:1-11). In other words, God will give you what you want. It is your choice. If your desire is the truth, and you search the scriptures, pray for the truth, and believe the truth (what the Bible says), then God will give you the truth. However, if your desire is to be "as gods" (Genesis 3:5) and your heart refuses to believe the words of truth, then, God will give you delusion (II Thessalonians 2:10-12).
THE PROBLEM OF UNBELIEF
The problem of unbelief is in your heart. You must believe in your heart to be saved (Acts 8:37; Romans 10:9). For from within, out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, wickedness, deceit, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness (Mark 7:21-23). "My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart." (Job 33:3) "Him that hath an high look and a proud heart will I not suffer." (Psalm 101:5) "My heart standeth in awe of thy word." (Psalm 119:161) Apply thine heart to understanding." (Proverbs 2:2) "Let thine heart retain my words." (Proverbs 4:4) "Give me thine heart." (Proverbs 23:26) "He respecteth not any that are wise of heart." (Job 37:24) "Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief." (Hebrews 3:12) The trouble with unbelief of God's word is in your heart.
MODERN VERSIONS
There are several lies that are told to Christians to keep them in the dark and to make them feel inferior. The most common of these lies is the statement that " Modern versions (the R.V. of 1884 and all English versions printed in this country since 1900) make the Bible easier to understand ". The truth is that you don't make THE BOOK easier to understand by changing the meaning of verses, leaving words out of verses, and leaving out complete verses. Try to find I John 5:7 in the New International and New American Standard versions. I John 5:7 is not in either of those books. Half of Romans 8:1 is also missing, which changes the context of the verse. The context of the verse is them "who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit". Leaving out those ten words makes the context to be anyone who is in Christ. That is changing the truth of God into a lie. (See Romans 1:25, which is also altered in modern versions.) The King James Bible, in Acts 3:19, says, "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord". The NASV says, "in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord". And the 'New King James Version' says, "so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord". The word 'when' (KJV) does not mean the same thing as 'so that' or 'in order that'. These imitation bibles have tried to change the gospel of the kingdom into the gospel of the grace of God. (Again, see Romans 1:25.) Neither the RSV, NIV, NASV, New RSV, nor the NKJV tells you to STUDY the word of truth in II Timothy 2:15. All of those, except the NKJV, do not tell you to make proper divisions in the Bible ("rightly dividing the word of truth"), which is an absolute essential in Bible study. The Authorized King James Bible tells you both. The NASV and NKJV want to provoke you to Jealousy instead of emulation in Romans 11:14. They also want you to imitate Christ instead of following him in I Corinthians 11:1. That's why I call them imitation bibles. If you follow them by imitating Christ (THE DEVIL IMITATES CHRIST), instead of following Christ, then you are following the Devil! Satan always uses partial truth to deceive. Therefore, his bibles have a lot of truth in them. (You can show the gospel to someone using any version.) But the Devil's bibles also have a lot of error. Compare II Samuel 21:19 in the King James Bible to the same verse in the NASV, NIV, and RSV. Who killed Goliath? Was it Elhanan or David? (See I Samuel 17:50 in any version.) Someone is in error. It isn't God. God's word is truth (John 17:17). "Yea, let God be true, but every man a liar"! Romans 3:4
THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF THE WORD "SCRIPTURE"
Another popular lie is defining the word 'scripture' in II Timothy 3:16 as 'original manuscripts' in order to teach that only the originals are inerrant. However, this definition of 'scripture' takes the word out of context every time it appears in the Bible. II Timothy 3:15 says that from a child Timothy knew the holy scriptures. You don't think that Timothy read the original manuscripts, do you? Of course not. But he did read the scriptures that God provided for him. I Peter 1:25 says that the word of the Lord is the word, which by the gospel is preached unto you. The present tense of this statement tells you that the word of the Lord is available to you today. The original manuscripts are not available to you today. Of course, modern versions change the verse (I Peter 1:25) to the past tense to support the lie about the scripture. (Romans 1:25 again.) Phillip and the Ethiopian eunuch read the scripture in Acts 8. The Bereans "searched the scriptures daily" (Acts 17:11). None of them read the original manuscripts. And if this is not enough, Jesus told you to "search the scriptures" in John 5:39. You cannot search the original manuscripts. Nobody on this earth can read the original manuscripts. You can search the scriptures in the Authorized King James Bible. So, in your Bible study, follow the example of the disciples in John 2:22 - "THEY BELIEVED THE SCRIPTURE".
And to all scholars, preachers, teachers, and anyone else who chooses to 'correct' the HOLY BIBLE - THE WORD OF GOD (AUTHORIZED VERSION 1611): "Thus saith the Lord God; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!" (Ezekiel 13:3)
Other scripture references on the word(s) of truth: Psalm 119:41-43; Ecclesiastes 12:9-12; Acts 26:25; 2 Corinthians 6:1-7; Ephesians 1:13; 2 Timothy 2:15; James 1:18.
And other references on the definition of the word ‘scripture’: Matthew 22:29; Mark 12:10 & 24; Luke 24:27, 32, 45; John 2:22; 5:39; Acts 8:32 & 35; 17:2 & 11; 18:24 & 28; Romans 9:17; 10:11; 15:4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Galatians 3:8 & 22; 4:30; 1 Timothy 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:15-16; 1 Peter 2:6; 2 Peter 1:19-21. Notice that all of these scriptures listed refer to not the original manuscripts, but the scriptures that were available to the person or people in the context.

(John 3:3) I am a 55 year old student and teacher of the word of God, the Holy Bible. I am a student of the English Language and its history including Anglo-Saxon and Middle English. I am also currently studying American History. I am an avid reader with a personal library of around 2000 volumes. I am a literary critic including Biblical works and Biblical doctrine. I am a master of Biblical studies, having read completely through the King James Bible approximately 30 times, and studied the Bible for most of 27 years. I have written and personally published and printed (by Word of Truth Publications) about 20 Biblical tracts. I continue my studies for continued personal growth and for preparation for further publication of new materials. [And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2 ]
